Community Based Services (CBS)

Community Based Services (CBS) provides intensive case management and clinical services to children, adolescents, and their families throughout Chittenden County. Wraparound Services and Therapeutic Foster Care are the hallmark of CBS in which a key aspect of planning and intervention is the coordination of treatment with parents, schools, child welfare, and other local mental heath agencies. The primary components of CBS are clinical case management, community skills integration, medication management, therapy, therapeutic foster care (when indicated), and crisis response services. Individualized treatment is provided to all of our youth/families and is driven by the youth, family, and providers by clearly identifying treatment goals. CBS is knowledgeable and committed to learning and continuing education in the areas of trauma, depression, anxiety, and family systems. We use diversified approaches to working with youth and families, provide trauma informed care, and incorporate alternative ways of self-expression through exercise, art, nature, and nutrition education. We strive to support youth in developing a healthy identity, positive familial and peer relationships, and emotional regulation skills.
