Crossroads: Intensive Outpatient Program

The Crossroads program consists of 3 hours of treatment per day, 3 to 5 days per week. The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) meets Monday-Friday from 9 am to 12pm. This program consists of a combination of supportive counseling, coping skills training, and psychiatry services. Participants will also receive crisis support services Sunday-Saturday and individual therapy while in program. Length of stay is 4-6 weeks. The average stay is 20 treatment days.

Staff are trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, which is an emotion-based cognitive-behavioral treatment. The underlying philosophy is that your emotions aren’t problematic; rather, how you cope with them can be. DBT-treatment helps enable individuals to accept, validate, and tolerate their emotions in a healthy way and replace certain behaviors with new coping skills. Skills acquisition will teach, strengthen, and generalize skills in the following areas: mindfulness, interpersonal relationships, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance.

Our program consists of a supportive counseling group, which allows individuals to check-in and process ongoing issues in their respective lives. The DBT coping skill groups helps explain the skills in an easy-to-learn manner and helps them implement these skills into their everyday lives. The program is for individuals 18+ who want help dealing with difficult and intense emotions.  Clients must self-refer to be placed on the waitlist.
