The Youth Development Program

The Springfield Youth Development Program is a voluntary service available to youth ages 15 to 22 who have experienced the foster care system in VT.  The Youth Development Coordinator works with youth through the Springfield Family Services Office to guide them through gaining the skills and knowledge they need to be successful adults and contributors to the community.  Coordination of services, individual & group work, and life skills training are provided to youth on an as needed basis to help them transition from the foster care system into their own independent living situation.  Among many services available, youth are taught to manage their own employment, income/budget, living situation, medical & service needs, and future training & education goals, as well as, their personal goals for success in their lives.
